Why I work well with kids?
I have worked with kids from 4 years of age and above. I have also taught senior citizens. I have been teaching music to a variety of people and age group for more than 15 years. I am able to communicate with each age group which enhances the teaching and learning experience. This is my life work and I am very good at it. I have so many testimonies both in the U.S. and in Africa concerning the high standard of music that I am able to take my students to.
Eric O. Bio and Resume
Bio
Location of Birth: Ghana
I started touring the European countries to participate in music festivals with my school band at the age of 17 (John Teye Memorial School, Ghana). I also participated in music workshops at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark and performed there as well. I took over my high school band and taught them for more than 12 years single-handedly and we also continued to tour the European countries. This continued until I came to the United States. In the U.S. I have formed youth bands in churches and we have performed in places such as the U.S. Capitol. I teach individual students at home as well as groups. Here is the link of the U.S. Capitol performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7np5r8xI-aQ
I received my bachelor’s degree in jazz studies and minored in music technology at George Mason University. I have taught privately for 5 years and group lessons for 2. I teach bass and guitar, all levels and ages as well as beginning and intermediate piano.
