The benefits of private guitar lessons with a qualified guitar instructor are widely known.  Studying guitar during a young student’s formative years helps the brain develop in meaningful ways. Playing the guitar is so much fun that children often don’t realize that they are developing the same part of their brain used in understanding math and science.  This fact alone should make most parents at least try to direct their child into some form of music study.

We provide group guitar lessons for guitar students in the Washington, DC area. If you have two or more children of similar age, we have a great roster of private guitar teachers for your family. Group guitar classes can be a lot of fun for kids. We have a great rate for group lessons that makes it a fun and affordable solution to take group guitar lessons.

We have been teaching private guitar lessons for kids in DC for years. We understand how to engage kids and get them excited to be learning their favorite songs on the acoustic or electric guitar. All of our guitar teachers understand that kids want to have fun while learning the guitar. For instance, we teach kids guitar using popular songs, while explaining the relevant chords and scales that provide a deeper understanding to music theory. We understand that beginner guitar students should have a positive impression when first introduced to the instrument.

If you need help finding an affordable starter instrument, contact us and we will be happy to recommend some local guitar stores in the Washington, DC area. We have developed personal relationships with owners and management of several local retail stores and we’d be happy to make the process of buying or renting a starter instrument easy and inexpensive.

New Baltimore Guitar, Bass and Drum Instructor

Written by Bhagwan on April 7th, 2010. Posted in Baltimore, MD, Columbia, MD

B&B Music Lessons is pleased to announce that we are now working with Baltimore guitar, bass and drum teacher Erich von Marko.  Erich performs regularly in the Baltimore area and has been teaching private music lessons since 1998.  Below is a more detailed description of this talented teacher.  Feel free to contact us if you are interested in speaking with Erich!

My first experience of performing music publicly, after a short course of piano lessons and untrained singing as a child, was to perform “Little Drummer Boy” at the age of 9 on snare drum in the Christmas church service at the church my family attended. I was self-taught on drum set from that point until about age 11, then focused my energies on learning the guitar and electric bass. At age 14 or 15, I began drumming again, this time with a course of professional instruction from Martin Bradfield of Spring City, Pennsylvania. Around the same time period, I began to pursue singing in earnest, with both the Glee Club and Select Choir of The Hill School, from 1990 thru ’92. I have taught music lessons off and on since 1998.

I have, through my experience as a professional instructor of guitar, bass, and drums, worked with many students in the age group pf 5 to 15, and feel comfortable tailoring lessons and instructional techniques toward the needs of younger beginning students. Also, as a parent of two, aged 5 and 7, I have developed a great deal of patience and understanding in dealing with children.
