Why I work well with kids?

As a Music Instructor returning to B&B Music Lessons with over three years of previous experience instructing students, I am especially acclimated to working with young children.  I am very patient with them, and always ready to show them a new technique again, again, and again until they are comfortable with it!  I have taught children ages 5 to 12 as well as young adults 16 to 18 years old.  My philosophy as a teacher is to adapt your teaching style to how your student feels most comfortable learning, and not the other way around (to be rigid, and expect your student to simply listen and do it your way.)  I think my two biggest strengths as a teacher are my previously mentioned approach, as well as my passion for what I do….I just love to teach, period!

Why I work well with kids?

I work well with children because I understand them, since I have been doing this for the better part of my life. They also understand me and that contributes to a good partnership between us.
I am very passionate about teaching, but I’m also versatile. Though I like to use a certain teaching method, I will definitely make any adjustment that is compatible to the student’s learning mode.

Why I work well with kids?

I come from a family of teachers and I grew up working with kids as a lifeguard at a local lake. I’ve been with B&B off and on for 3 years now and have had dozens of children students in the DC area. I try to make lessons as ‘kid friendly’ as possible.

Why I work well with kids?

For 6 years, I worked as a swim coach for over 200 age-group swimmers ages 5-18. Teaching a large number of kids at different ages and skill levels gave me the patience and humor to create an environment where children improved their skills and had fun doing it. I genuinely have fun and enjoy teaching kids, and when a teacher has fun, they students are almost always engaged and excited about the subject!

Why I work well with kids?

I have been a Youth Leader and interacted with youth more than half of my life. I have good rapport with them because I can talk with them on their level and I create a fun and creative atmosphere. I do the same with seniors as some can be young at heart.
