Why I work well with kids?

I have worked successfully with kids in this age range in several different situations. I have a lot of patience for kids and generally enjoy some aspects that others might find trying. I have several younger kids in my life such as my niece, Lucy, who is a great joy to me. I feel that a life of music has kept me young at heart.  I can relate to the kid-spirit in many ways and communicate easily with them. I believe in the power of music in the lives of people of all ages and would take great joy in sharing this with a wide range of people.

Why I work well with kids?

People have seen me teach kids, and they say that I’m very patient and caring.
I love helping kids to reach their dreams through music!

Why I work well with kids?

I have experience with teaching students from as young as 5 and as old as 70.  The average age of my students is about 9.  My lessons are very structured, 2/3 technical development and 1/3 music.  For my beginners, the music portion will be method books until I feel they are capable of repertoire.  I stress the importance of repetition and slow practice.  With all students, there is a window of opportunity which usually occurs within 3-4 weeks of taking lessons where if they don’t see progress, they quit.  Technical development (achieved by slow, repetitious practice) accomplishes this.  My systematic approach has achieved vast improvements in all my students, so much that 85% of my students are referrals from parents who are impressed with my work.

Why I work well with kids?

Because I try to find fun in everything!  I like to think of myself as a big musical kid, and if you think of music as a game, you can really make a lot of progress!

Why I work well with kids?

I am extremely patient and understanding when it comes to working well with kids. Encouragement, compassion, and accomplishment are key elements in teaching children. I love tutoring children because I feel like their minds are easily absorbent to reading and writing music as well.

Why I work well with kids?

I’m a parent, principally. I have a great deal of patience but am not afraid to think outside the box. I have been able to help several kids in the autistic spectrum because my approach is not rigid. I will use material that a particular student relates to or requests to convey musical concepts.

Why I work well with kids?

As both a musician and a psychology major, Simone uses an eclectic approach of applying principles of lifespan human development, the Suzuki method, and various theory and piano course books towards her teaching methods. Even as early as middle school, she began teaching private lessons to her peers; specifically violin, viola, and cello. She greatly enjoys finding new and exciting ways to motivate young people to explore the connections between classical approaches and the application of those techniques towards popular music, including the use of technology, social media, and amplification/effects on traditionally classical acoustic instruments.

Why I work well with kids?

I have taught in various settings ever since a young age.
Since middle school, I tutored kids in english, during summers in college, I was a camp counsellor at YMCA and in my adult life, I was a 2nd grade teacher and also taught some creative movement and dance classes to pre-schoolers.
I also have a 4 year old toddler of my own and thoroughly enjoy  teaching him musical concepts and seeing him have fun with music.I am extremely patient, understanding and I am constantly thinking of creative ways to help the child understand more complex musical ideas.Looking forward to working with your family!

Why I work well with kids?

As a Music Instructor returning to B&B Music Lessons with over three years of previous experience instructing students, I am especially acclimated to working with young children.  I am very patient with them, and always ready to show them a new technique again, again, and again until they are comfortable with it!  I have taught children ages 5 to 12 as well as young adults 16 to 18 years old.  My philosophy as a teacher is to adapt your teaching style to how your student feels most comfortable learning, and not the other way around (to be rigid, and expect your student to simply listen and do it your way.)  I think my two biggest strengths as a teacher are my previously mentioned approach, as well as my passion for what I do….I just love to teach, period!

Why I work well with kids?

I work well with children because I like observing them as they learn about the world around them. I realize that each time I am around them I learn something new everyday. They are genuine and inquisitive to learn and explore. I get different motivation from working with different personalities, It is just a wonderful thing and I’m never bored as they are filled with so much enthusiasm.
