Why I work well with kids?
I have been teaching kids for over 4 years now, and I’ve had only 2 students stop taking lessons with me because of lack of interest. I love working with kids because they are so malleable and you can help mold them into the little rockers they want to be. You know everything is going well when the next lesson comes up the following week, and your student is plugged in and ready to show you what he/she has mastered. Teaching kids music theory through the songs they know and love is in integral part of the way I teach. I find that in doing this, students have more fun in the lesson, and are keen to practice more in between lessons.

Why I work well with kids?
I have experience with teaching students from as young as 5 and as old as 70. The average age of my students is about 9. My lessons are very structured, 2/3 technical development and 1/3 music. For my beginners, the music portion will be method books until I feel they are capable of repertoire. I stress the importance of repetition and slow practice. With all students, there is a window of opportunity which usually occurs within 3-4 weeks of taking lessons where if they don’t see progress, they quit. Technical development (achieved by slow, repetitious practice) accomplishes this. My systematic approach has achieved vast improvements in all my students, so much that 85% of my students are referrals from parents who are impressed with my work.

Why I work well with kids?
I can honestly say that kids feel comfortable around me, My neighbors have kids and their kids always ask me to play with them. They are between the ages of 5 to 10. Also, I did Vacation Bible School, where i would get groups of Elementary School kids to participate in recreational activities. And I have volunteered for the Special Olympics during the fall season to help out with kids soccer games.
Lastly, during the summer I was a swimming instructor, mostly for younger kids between the ages of 4 to 16.

Why I work well with kids?
I have been teaching lessons for over 10 years now and I think my success as a teacher comes from not only teaching students how to play the drums piano and guitar, but more importantly, how to enjoy music and have fun playing music. As I grew up I played drums 4-6 hours a day and it wasn’t because anyone was forced me to play, it was because it was something I truly enjoyed. While teaching I keep my childhood experience in mind and always make it my first job to teach students how to enjoy playing.
